Contestants shall compete for the

“MISS KERALA EUROPE 2008”

Title in Switzerland .

The contest envisages free access for contestants, who shall only be requested to meet the requirements envisaged and accept these present Rules and Regulations. Moreover, participation is free of charge and, therefore, no registration fee, commission or refund of any kind shall be charged to the contestants.

The contest is open to all girls meeting the following requirements:

• They must be Kerala origin, or have at least one parent or grandparent of Kerala origin;
• They must know the basics of the Malayalam language;
• They must be female born;
• They must be at least 16, and not over 26 as at October, 2008;
• They must show an irreproachable behaviour;
• Must not be the winners of other national or international beauty contests.

The application for the contest shall be filled by using the relevant form. Moreover, the form shall be accompanied by:

1) for major contestants, a photocopy of the candidate’s valid I.D.;

2) for minor contestants:

1. a) a photocopy of the candidate’s valid I.D.;
2. b) a photocopy of the I.D. of the person having parental authority;

Lacking the aforementioned signatures or even one of the documents listed above, the application shall not be accepted; or, should the application be accepted by mistake, the contestant shall then be immediately disqualified, regardless of the contest stage she reached.

The competition is based on personality, charm, poise, beauty, ability to articulate, and style in dress wearing (not the value of the dress or ornaments) and presentation skills. The program will help to boost self-confidence besides learning good communication and leadership skills. These skills are very important for the youth to succeed in their careers. We firmly believe that the experience of participation in events of this nature will confer many benefits to the contestants.

The contestants are permitted to choose language.       The languages permitted in this competition are:

1. Malayalm
2. English
3. German

1. Personal introduction by each candidate wearing Kerala Sari (Set-Sari)
2. Modern Dress competition (European or Indian dresses, except Sari)
3. Colourful Sari wearing competition & question and answer round (Questions will be given to contestants 5 hrs before starting the competition).

Out of whole contesting candidates top 5 candidates will qualify for the Finals

1. 5 candidates those who are getting the highest scores out of all contestants will qualify for the finals.

   1. Talent show (example: speech, poem recital, dance, song, mimicry, mono-act, etc. etc.)
   2. One question will be asked

   The maximum point holder will be awarded of the “Miss Kerala Europe 2008” Title.

A Jury consisting of people belonging to the fields of culture, fashion, and sports, who shall be present in the venue, shall vote the contestants. The judges will be looking for originality, creativity, strong composition and presentation skills.
